The Hogwarts Express

Starting from Platform 9 3/4, the Hogwarts Express carries Hogwarts students from London Kings Cross to Hogsmeade. As it belongs to the magical wizarding world, it is likely that the Hogwarts express does not use the same technology as muggle engines, although it has the appearance of a steam train. The locomotive used in the film adaptations is a Great Western Railway Hall Class 5972 Olton Hall, which was repainted for this role.
