Beamish Open Air Museum
At the Pockerley Waggonway you can see replicas of some of the earliest locomotives in steam - Puffing Billy, Locomotion No 1 or the Steam Elephant. On special occasions there are additional steam attractions - gallery includes photos of shunting in the colliery yard at Easter weekend 2009, plus the miniature railway and visiting locomotives at the Steam Festival in September 2009.
