Plot
More than 50 years after the events of 'Alien', Ripley - the sole survivor of the Nostromo - is discovered adrift in the shuttle she used to escape. Stripped of her licence and faced with criticism and disbelief from Company officials, she is horrified to discover that a human colony now inhabits the planet where she encountered the alien. But when contact with the colonists is lost, she is called on to advise a group of Space Marines sent to investigate. Despite her distrust of the Company and her reluctance to re-encounter the horrors of her past, Ripley agrees to accompany the expedition to the planet.
There, her worst fears are confirmed. Within the colony base, the sole survivor is an eight-year-old girl, known as 'Newt'. Outside, is an army of aliens. As the marines struggle to hold back their massed attack, Ripley finds that she must protect herself and Newt not only from the alien threat but also from the attempts of Company representative Carter Burke to hijack the expedition for his own ends. When the battle takes her to the very heart of the alien hive, Ripley needs all her resourcefulness and determination as she encounters the alien queen - more intelligent and cunning than her soliders, and just as deadly.
