About this fanlisting
'Rejoined' was probably my favourite episode in the entire Deep Space 9 series. It has an exciting plot, and was the first Star Trek episode that came close to exploring a romantic relationship between two characters of the same sex. I think the message it sent was very positive, because it focused on the love story in a way that made it clear that the gender of the people involved really did not matter - it was the taboo in Trill society against associating with a lover from the past life that was the barrier between them. I loved the way that Terry Farrell and Susanna Thompson portrayed the relationship, and brought out the emotion between the characters. The episode also had some lovely moments between Dax and Benjamin Sisko, showing the strength of their long friendship.
