Celtic Soul: The Clannad Fanlisting

The Band

The name Clannad comes from An Clann As Dobhar, meaning 'the family from Dore'. The band was originally made up of Máire, Pól and Ciarán Uí Bhraonáin (Brennan), with two of their uncles, Pádraig and Noel Ó Dúgáin (Duggan). Their third and fourth albums, 'Crann Úll' and 'Fuiam', also featured sister Eithne, who went on to a distinguished solo career as Enya.

Pol left the band in 1989, and released a Japanese/Celtic fusion album, 'Trísan' in 1992. The remaining four members continued to record as Clannad, with Máire (Moya) pursuing a parallel solo career.
