In brief:
Ripley is the sole survivor when the escape pod from the Sulaco crash-lands on Fiorina 161, a maximum-security prison. It soon emerges that an alien has survived with her, and she and the inmates must find a way to defeat the creature without advanced technology or weapons. Ripley also discovers that the alien loose in the prison is not the only threat she has to content with.
